Gold Coast – Byron Bay – Noosa

For the rest of the time I had left in Australia we travelled south to the gold coast.

We stayed a night at the spit in Surfers Paradise and travelled south to Byron Bay with surf stops in Surfers Paradise, Burleigh Heads and Snapper Rocks. As we arrived in Byron Bay we realized it was not the best time to be there because it was schoolies week and Byron was flooded with teenagers. Nevertheless we found some nice bars with normal people. All in one I really liked Byron, it was a nice chilled out place with a huge diversity of people form old-hippies to yuppies.

After two days surfing Byron we headed back north to Noosa with surf stops in Kings Cliff, Duranbah, Snapper, Burleigh and Caloundra. Continue reading Gold Coast – Byron Bay – Noosa

Cooloola And Fraser Island

After the van was prepared for our journey we started north in the direction of great sandy national park. In cooloola we had the first chance to test the offroad capabilities of your mitsu because we had to drive all the way up to double island point on the beach. On double island point I experienced my first surf on pacific waves.

After camping near double island point we headed north to rainbow beach and set over to fraser island. Since we arrived late we headed straight to a beach camping area. The next day we began our adventure on the fraser inlnad tracks to lake mc kenzie. The roads on fraser were all in a bad condition with a lot of deep sand. During our trip to lake mc kenzie we managed to get bogged up only four times.

The most beautiful spot on fraser was indian which we drove by on our way up north and back. From indian head you had amazing view over the island and the ocean. We also spotted some turtles, stingrays and sharks.

After five days we headed back to the farm in noosa to prepare for our journey to moreton island and the gold coast. Continue reading Cooloola And Fraser Island
